Final Post

I ended up getting 11th in the monthly and weekly TLB. Which is good when you think about it, but also bad in a way, because I FT'd a tournament on Friday, and the win would have put me in the lead at the time (2nd now the month is over) but I got 1 outtered with 8 left for like 65% of the chips in play. Sighaments.

May was my best ever month at the poker tables, according to OPR I made close to 15k profit, I broke into the top 100 in the UK on P5s, and I got ranked high on the weekly TLB twice, and high on the monthly TLB. It included my biggest score, my 3rd biggest score and my 4th biggest score. I also made 76000 VPPs, ok so 70000 of them were from the UK promo but 6000 is still enormous for an MTTer, especially when I didn't put in loads of volume last month.

As the title insinuates this will be my last post on this blog as my blog will be hosted on www.tworags.com from now onwards, I'll update the link and add it to the bottom of this post when everything gets set up there. I'll still be reading everyone else's blogs so I'll use this blog for my awesome blogroll.

Till next time

Carl

Last Couple of Days

The last couple of days I've been playing some multi-table SNGs at the $12 level.

On Tuesday I lost around $500, I don't think I cashed in one and I got super tilted overall so just gave up early.

Yesterday started iff like Tuesday but got progressively better, and I ended winning 1 45manner for $154, and 2x180manners for $600 each, so I made about $750 on the day, which was nice, I also had a mini rail going at the last final table, which made it more enjoyable, thanks guys.

Today I playd 6x$12/45s and a $27/45. I went deep in 2 of the 12s and ended up getting a 4th and a 1st for about $150 profit, which again was pretty nice.

I won't be putting any mor volume in tonight, but I'll defnitely be putting in the volume over the weekend, playing my usual MTT sessions.

I plan on buying the following computer:
http://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/saving/show.asp?id=140223

And getting 2 of the following monitor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009175

Which means that if I wanted I could tile 24 tables with no overlap, which would be pretty cool.

I also bought a years subscription to CardRunners the other day, so that I could watch some of the old ActionJeff/Adanthar vids, and some of the new Menlo/Timex/Mgaloo vids, which should be helpful in my game, I think I have some leaks in my early game which definitely need fixing, so hopefull CR will help me plug those.

That's all for now, til next time thanks for reading and GL at the tables.

Blankety Blank

So I've played 2 sessions since my last post, and as the title suggests, it didn't really go very well. I min cashed a few tournaments, but played terrible in everything that I went deep in. For example the Stars $20^3 on Friday, I had 3x average with 60 left, and a massive CL and ended up crashing 39th after playing ridiculously, and running into just about the worst reg on the planet. (devinr12, spl?) He kept playing retarded hands OOP vs huge 3 bets and obviously hitting the flop hard. I'll try and dig out some HH for my next post.

On the plus side I did come top 20 in Starsm weekly TLB, and am 68th in their monthly as we speak. I don't think I'll make a run for it, so it's pretty meaningless as the prizes are retarded unless you get to top 5, and I already have loads of the TLB tickets, but it's still nice imo.

Above is my sharkscope graph, as sharkscope now tracks MTTs. The massive vertical line was Tuesday, and the 1k downswing has been the previous 2 sessions.

I'm not playing again til Friday, but I should be putting a lot of volume in for a couple of weeks after that. On the plus side I can put more volume in when I play, as I am now rolled for the $55s and $11r's, so it helps towards the VPP promotion.

Time to go and get breakfast, til next time thanks for reeading and GL at the tables.

Grinding, Grinding, and Grinding

It's not really been an eventful week or so since my last post, and I've only just had reason to post.

There's a promotion Stars are doing for UK players at the moment, where depending on the amount of VPPs we get in May, we get awarded an amount of VPPs (upto to 80,000) for absolutely free. With Supernova only being 100,000VPPs, and equivalent to decent amounts of rakeback, it makes sense for me to put in some decent volume when I play. So I've been putting in even more volume than usual during my sessions, playing maybe 50 tourns or so, adding like 10 more to my schedule.

Friday was pretty much my worst day ever at the tables. I only went deep in one tourn, a $22 HU shootout, I won like 5 or 6 rounds, but then lost in the last 16 to probably the worst player I'd played in the tournament. The Saturday was pretty much the same, except the tournament I went deep in was the 3r, which I ended up FT bubbling. Sickness.

Yesterday though, was the complete opposite to Friday and Saturday and was actually my best day ever. I went deep in 4 tourns:
$16/360: 2nd for $840
$16/20k turbo: 22nd for pennies
$3r: 5th for 2500
5r: 1st for $7300

So I got my biggest score, and 2 other awesome scores to have my first +$10k day. Wheeeeeeeeeee. I'll write a proper update on that later but I don't have the time atm.

In other news I have a new favourite Subway, the Chicken Pizziola with jalapeƱos and hot chilli sauce is one of the nicest things I've ever tasted. So obviously I'll be spending all of my winnings on footlond Subways.

I've also been teaching a friend how to play poker. With the help of a poker strategy website, I've been teaching him NLHE. After he gets the basics I can go onto more advance concepts such as pot odds. It's a useful site and I wish I used it when I was starting out, some of the tips are helpful for me to go over even now.

That's it for this post, Friday will probably be my next session so I'll update you all if I go deep.

Thanks for reading and GL at the tables.

I'M NOT A LAZY FUCKER

Well I am but that's not the reason it's been a while since I posted, the house move went smoothly, but TalkTalk are wankers and said it would take 6 weeks to get the interwebz at my new house so we said 'eff you guise' and went with BT instead.

On my last night before the move I FT'd the 5r 25ao again and got 4th for $650, my lil Sunday saver. Haven't played since then and probably won't be playing til this time next week, so propbably won't update until then.

Got a lot of shit to do atm, so til next time, laters.

Last Night

Just a short update to let you guys know how last night went.

I played my usual session of like 40 MTTs, including the 5 card draw and Turbo NLHE SCOOPs, not getting very far in those 2 though.

I did manage to get pretty deep in 3 tournaments towards the end of the night though. 1st was the $5r with a $25add on, and I was playing it pretty much on auto-pilot while concentrating on something else until the FT. I came into the FT 6/8, and ended getting 3rd for just less than 4 figures.

Next was the $2.75/$10k guarantee with 6300 runners. I wanted to win this so badly because it was worth masses of TLB points for the 2+2 TLB competition, but I FT bubbled, I've been doing a lot of that recently, I really need to work on my short handed play, which used to be my biggest strength but is now my biggest weakness.

Finally while all of this was going on I was deep in another $2 tournament with just over 2200 players. I ended up 1 tabling this for an hour, and was wanting to gouge my eyes out with a spoon the whole way. I ended up getting 18th, after I kept falling asleep only to be awoken by Stars '14 seconds to act beep', so I decided to play like Vietcong and go busto or robusto, obv I went busto.

That sums up yesterdays session really, I'll be putting in decent session on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and will be looking into getting an aircard on Wednesday for the first 28 days after the move.

Thanks for reading and GL at the tables.

What you say? A post from EY? - Edited because for some reason hand explanations seem to disappear all the time

Sup guys, you may or may not remember me but I used to post on here pretty regularly, about my donkament exploits. I've basically had too much work to do, and couldn't justify taking the time out to write a post when I had work to do. (Neglecting any readers I have obv, I was just looking for an excuse)

So what has happened in the world of EY since my last post? (It's actually been so long since I made a post I have had to check OPR to see how my poker has been coming along)

So last week I decided I'd start playing 12/180s again, and won one on the 1st day back, leaving me +40BIs, but a 40BI downswong the next day meant I quickly stopped that and have been playing $6/45s during the week. I have still been playing weekends like normal though, and I remember last weekend as clear as a bell. If things had gone my way I would have EASILY been up 5 figures, instead I ended up playing like a retard and running only slightly better so I broke even.

Firstly on Firday I made 2 FTs, going into both as CL. The $9FT only tournament which had just over 2k for 1st, I had double second going into the FT, a few standard button shoves, and a few -$EV calls from my opponents later I end up going out in 5th for, well pennies really. Nevermind onwards and upwards etc, I was still deep in a few things. The only thing I really progressed in after that though was the $10 15k in which I KO'd shaundeeb in like 20th and again made the FT coming in 1/9 with a healthy CL and a very nice $2.6k for 1st. I ran AK into a mid stacks 99 which held. Then AK lost to AJ bvb to KO me in 9th for like the 2nd worst feeling ever (I'll come to the worst feeling later in the post.)

Un-deterred by all this though, I thought I must be playing reasonably well to get to these FTs so APU I played again on Saturday. Saturday was an awesome day for me I played so well in everything I was in and really felt I was gonna hit big. I went super deep in the Stars 5r and the Stars $5 2r1a, which had $7.9k and $5.8k ftw respectively. I was doing quite well in the 5r and was sat 2nd/~60 remaining, with the CL being 99NvrLosez (solid player for those who don't know) and he was on my table. I can't remember the exact details, but what I can remember is AK lost toAQ vs him for a quarter of the chips in play, to make me wanna puke.

I thought to myself 'No worries, you're still in the 2r1a take that down instead'. I was 1/16 at the time in the 2r1a, and ended up crashing 13th after AA lost to AQ (notice a trend here) for other half the chips in play by a guy who had just overtaken me. He went on to take an even chop with a 1.7:1 CL HU, wp imo.

That had to be one of the worst feelings I've ever had since I started playing poker and I actually thought I was gonna puke or cry or both, but hey it's only money.

SCOOP starts tonight and I'll be playing a bunch of events, I was gonna get backed for some mid-events, but I'm not any more so I have 100% of myself in everything I play.

I'm also moving into a new house any time between now and Thursday, and won't have internet for upto 28 days when I move in, so I have to get an AirCard with unlimited usage to last me until I get it back.

That's all for now, as my fingers are hurting, thanks for reading and GL at the tables.

Another FT/ Another Near Miss

So I made a FT again last night, I was owning all the way through, but got raped on the FT bubble so came in 7/9, shoved K4o with 10bbs from LP, some guy timebank called with TT, slowrolling muthlicka!

Been playing 45 man SNGs for the last week, results have been pretty swongy and I'm about BE in them atm, but I've fixed a leak, so hopefully can start shipping some monies.

I'm trying to be a bit more loose in my MTT play so I've been opening a lot wider, with varied success so far, I'll let you know how it goes.

Got tonnes of work to do tomorrow, so I'm gonna try to not play too long tonight, giving me enough time to do it tomorrow.

That's all for now, I'll update again if anything goes well this session.
